CAR CRASH MYTHS THAT CAN GET YOU IN TROUBLE
1. If it's a minor accident, you don't need to make an accident report.
WRONG - Insurance companies insist on a police report and you should, too.
2. If it's the other guy's fault, I don't have to use my insurance.
WRONG - Its often much better to use your own insurance to pay for property damage and medical bills. CALL ME AND I'LL EXPLAIN WHY.
3. If it's the other guy's fault, I don't need to report the crash to my insurance company.
WRONG - If you have auto insurance, ALWAYS report the loss as soon as practical. You could lose the right to some important coverage for your losses if you don't.
4. If it's the other guy's fault, his insurance company will pay for my medical bills as they come due.
WRONG - You are responsible for your medical bills for any treatment you receive. Medical providers will bill you. That is one of the reasons you need to use your own medical insurance if you have it. There are other good reasons that I'll be happy to explain.
5. The other guy's insurance company is there to help me.
WRONG - The other guy's insurance company is there to help him. Believe it or not, they owe you NO duty of care. They are representing their own insured, not you.
